MS. SUDESHA DAS

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - ENGLISH

Ms. Das has been teaching at SNU since 2018 and currently pursuing her Ph.D. She completed her graduation from Bidhannagar Govt. College in 2013 and MA from West Bengal State University in 2015. She cracked both UGC NET and WBSET in the same year (2017). Her additional qualification includes a B.ED degree from WBUTTEPA in 2016 and a Certificate course in Sanskrit from Jadavpur University in 2023. Her research interests include Mahabharata Studies, Indian Writing in English, Tagore studies, Literature and Film. She has published academic papers and creative writings (poetry) in edited volumes and journals. Besides being a literary enthusiast, she indulges in various cultural activities like script writing, direction and performance.

Ms. Sudesha Das is a dedicated Assistant Professor of English at Sister Nivedita University (SNU), where she has been imparting knowledge and inspiring students since 2018. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D., demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and academic excellence. Her educational journey began with a graduation degree from Bidhannagar Government College in 2013, followed by a Master’s degree in English from West Bengal State University in 2015.

Ms. Das's academic credentials are further bolstered by her success in clearing both the UGC NET and WBSET exams in 2017, which are essential qualifications for higher education teaching in India. She also holds a B.Ed. degree from WBUTTEPA, obtained in 2016, which underscores her dedication to the pedagogical aspect of teaching. Her diverse educational background is enriched by a Certificate course in Sanskrit from Jadavpur University, completed in 2023, reflecting her broad interest in languages and classical studies.

Her research interests are multifaceted, encompassing Mahabharata Studies, Indian Writing in English, Tagore Studies, and the intersection of Literature and Film. These areas not only highlight her depth of knowledge in traditional and contemporary literary fields but also her interest in interdisciplinary approaches to literature. Her work in Mahabharata Studies explores ancient texts and their relevance in modern times, while her research in Indian Writing in English and Tagore Studies delves into the rich literary heritage of India. Her interest in Literature and Film showcases her understanding of narrative techniques across different media.
